5.5 M Gran Turismo 5 Copies Already Shipped Out! Over 60 M For The GT Franchise
Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. announced that the sales of the Gran Turismo franchise, the most realistic racing simulator available for PlayStaiton, PlayStation2, PlayStation3 şi PSP(PlayStation Portable), have reached over 60 million units, on December 6th, 2010. 5.52 million Gran Turismo 5 units have been shipped out so far.
This impressive sales number was reached at 12 years and 11 months after the Japanese launch of the first title of the franchise, Gran Turismo, in December 1997.
The Gran Turismo franchise, from with the original game Gran Turismo to the most recent one, Gran Turismo 5, was developed in the same time with the PlayStation platforms. Because of the unmistakable gameplay, the revolutionary graphics and realistic driving simulation, the franchise is known as the best racing simulator for PlayStation, both the enthusiasts and the pro racing drivers loving acclaiming the game.
The ninth title of the best selling racing simulator, Gran Turismo 5 for PS3, benefits from new graphics engine for even more realistic feeling during turning and drifting, and creating a driving experience more intuitive than ever. The game features an impressive gallery of over 1,000 licensed cars of the top automakers.
