The convertible version of the German supercar, Mercedes SLS AMG, is tested by the engineers of Stuttgart at the Polar Circle, right next to its main rival on the supercars market: Audi R8 V10 Spyder.

The guys of CarPix have caught on camera, while testing, in the far North of Sweden, one of the coming market hits of Mercedes. We are talking about the Roadster version of Mercedes SLS AMG, a model which is highly expected by the enthusiasts of the brand with the headquarters located in Stuttgart.

The interesting fact is that the tests made by the Mercedes engineers at the Polar Circle are comparative ones, as the photographers of CarPix have also spotted an Audi R8 V10 Spyder, used by the officials of the Stuttgart automaker as sparring-partner for the new Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster.

According to the infos published until now, the changes the new SLS AMG Roadster will bring are limited to an enhanced body resistance and, of course, the way the doors will open, featuring classic hinges.

The New Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster will have its world premiere at Frankfurt Auto Show, scheduled for September 2011.
