That Mitsubishi M-iEV is so brilliant that two French makers already took the concept and made their own models. After Peugeot’s iON version of the M-iEV electric car, we now have the Citroen C-Zero. Cool name, but what’s with the car exactly?

The C-Zero is scheduled to go in to production at the end of 2010, and yes it’s a car with zero emission. At least when it’s brand new.  This is quite obviously meant to lower Citroens polloiton range mean, along with the DS3 and a C3 low CO2 emission cars.

Like it’s origin  the M-iEV, the nice fellow C-Zero uses a 47kw electric motor and a 330v lithium ion battery. To be seen, from my point of view, as a city car, this urban Green Citroen can be one of the fastest refillis in the segment. If you can take your C-Zero to a nearby 400v connection, then you go 80% quick charge in 30 minutes. Top speed of around 80mph and a 0-60mph time of 15 seconds make it now the fastest there is but good enough. I mean imagine those packed streets at 8 AM in downtown, you barely move at all not to mention trying to gush over 50 mph…

Citroen is also offering a pre-purchase test drive for potential buyers. We have no information on the price tag, but the M-iEV launched this year at around $33-34,000 in Japan.
