Mitsubishi Lancer To Get 1.8 DI-D Diesel Engine

Mitsubishi Lancer will replace the current 2.0 DI-D diesel  engine with the new 1.8-liter engine.  Besides this, in the range will make its appearance also a 1.6-liter gasoline unit.

Mitsubishi has announced that will bring on the market two new engines for Lancer, once with the launch of the 2011 model. diesel. Thus, the japanese will  replace the current 1.5-liter gasoline and 2.0 liters diesel units.

The public will be able to choose instead, the new generation of 1.6-liter gasoline engine capable to deliver 117 HP and 154 Nm of torque,  improved, compared with the old unit of 109 HP and 143 Nm of torque.  The propeller will be found also in  four-door version and on the Sportback version, in both cases the performance levels being slightly improved.

Sprint from 0-60 mph is achieved in 11.1 seconds and the speedometer needle stops at 118 mph.  CO2 emissions are reduced to 130 g / mile for sedan, and to 133 g / mile, in the caseof the Sportback version.

Old 2.0 DI-D engine from Volkswagen, will be replaced by another diesel, Mitsubishi’s own production, currently found on the ASX crossover. In both derived body, the public will have a bit more sensible version of the diesel engine capable of delivering 116 HP and 300 Nm of torque.

In the future however, we could find on the four-door Lancer, the 150 HP version of 1.8 DI-D  diesel engine.

    I have a Lancer 2.0 DID (VW engine) and i have to admit i am very disapointed with the car. Problems after problems in the first 2 and half years! Gearbox repaired, electrical problems (still have electrical problems), loss of power, radio problems, etc…
