Saab Has Found A Partner To Develop The Future 9-2

Saab will developed the 9-2 model with a partner help from outside. The name of the new partner could be announced at Paris Motor Show 2010.

Victor Muller, the Spyker chief, announced that it has found a partner to develop new Saab 9-2. The new owner of the mark from Trollhattan not announced who is the partner for the development of 9-2, but some voices convey the BMW name. In any case, we know that Victor Muller talks with three major automakers at worldwide, which can afford such a collaboration. The name of the new partner could be announced at Paris Motor Show.

New Saab 9-2 is expected to debut in a few years. The model will present the same figure that made famous the 9-2 product between 1949 and 1956. Most likely, the future 9-2 will have front wheel drive and will be equipped with turbo engines. The Swedish model will struggle in the premium segment of mini class and will have an interesting design, and performance and economic engines.

Until the debut of new 9-2, Saab will launch a new generation of 9-3 and the future 9-4x. While the 9-4x model will still use a GM platform, the future 9-3 will receive a new platform. Unless the project 9-2, Victor Muller will finance other projects both with their own funds and with the $500 million that it has borrowed from the European Investment Bank.
