Volkswagen sketch of cool sedan designed in the US

The American division of VW is working on a killer sedan meant to be a leader for mid-sized sedan sales in 2011-2012. Close to nothing is know about the coming car, but they did release a sketch, which you can see right here.

The factory currently being built by VW in Chattanooga, Tenn., will start producing cars in the spring of 2011. Among the most important is this unnamed sedan. ales of the mid-size sedan will be at least 100,000 units annually at full capacity. The car is expected to start at about $20,000.

The sedan also will be exported, but it has been designed primarily for the U.S. market. It will have features such as additional cupholders, Bluetooth connections and other state-of-the art electronic options. What we don’t know is about safety standards and drive controls, and that is of the most interest nowadays when Asian cars seem to dominate the field when it comes to reliability.
