It seems that the Germans are leaking a lot these days. First, we saw spy shots of the upcoming 2011 BMW 5-Series, then it was 2010 BMW 3-Series CC’s turn. Now, we are staying in the Bavaria, only that we will change the Munich for Ingolstadt to see some pictures of the 2011 Audi A8.
In fact, the pictures were taken on the Nurburgring circuit. The annoying camo prevents us from taking a look at what the new A8 will be. So, no news about the looks.
But I have some news about the new powertrain of the 2011 Audi A8. I have good news and bad news. The bad news is that there will be no more W12 6.1-liter engine. The good news is that the old W12 6.1-liter will become a W12 6.5-liter and will have 50 hp more, meaning that it will exceed 500 hp. Rumor has it that a 400 hp V8 engine will also be available for the A8, an engine that will be able to shut down four of his cylinders to lessen his hunger.

Also, there are rumors pointing that Audi is looking to build a rival for Mercedes-Benz’s BlueEfficiency four-cylinder that comes with the S-Class, so it is likely to see a new 2.0-liter deiesel engine, enhanced with tow turbos, and over 200 hp on the 2011 Audi A8.
We will see if all these rumors are true in January, when the new Audi A8 is expected to pop out at the Detroit Auto Show, and completely unveil all A8’s mysteries in late 2010 when it is expected to hit the market.

2.0 l diesel mill in an A8 quattro? Me thinks it’d be hilariously underpowered.
