Nissan Murano To Be Called Cross Cabriolet

Nissan will launch this fall a convertible variant of the model Murano.  Name chosen by the Japanese to this segment pioneer  is Cross Cabriolet.

It was only one week ago that a handful of Nissan dealers were able to preview the seemingly odd Murano convertible, which is set to debut later this year at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

In autumn this year, Nissan aims to revolutionize the SUV segment with an unusual derivative of the model Murano.  Rumors that announcing a convertible version of the SUV were officially confirmed, the public expecting for pioneering a new segment, envisioned by the Japanese automaker.

With almost three months before the opening of the Los Angeles Auto Show, where it will be exhibited for the first time the convertible Murano, appear the  early speculation on the name that this  revolutionary model will carry.  According to unofficial sources, the new derivative with retractable roof would be called CrossCabriolet.

This model, a true first in the automotive world, will be dropped the back doors, will adopt a retractable roof, canvas, and can accommodate four passengers.

Brian Carolin, Nissan Officer for North American market, recently said that the Murano convertible will be a niche car, produced in a limited number of copies to ensure exclusivity. The final result of the project would surprise many car enthusiasts. The new Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet will arrive on the market in early 2011.
