2010 Chevrolet Malibu – road manners are top priority

The new age for GM means one thing most of all: pushing Chevrolet as the main representative of the mother label. They even sold some other subsidiaries over to different makers. But that’s another story which we covered a bit and will do some more in the future.

The new award winning Chevrolet Malibu emphasizes civilized road manners, quality construction and practicality, with clean, contemporary styling. As drivers nowadays are used, the 2010 Malibu being a mid-size car with 3 packages avaialble:  LS, LT, and LTZ.  All models are powered by a 169-hp, 2.4-liter E85-compatible four-cylinder engine as standard equipment. The LS includes a four-speed automatic transmission. The LT and LTZ include a six-speed automatic transmission. This distinctive looking gentleman takes a lot from the fifth generation members of the Malibu branch, like the 2003 model. However, The 2010 Malibu was redesigned byBryan Nesbitt from the 2008 model. A four-door sedan that looks really nice on the road and can suit a wide range of tastes: from family persons to teenager girls looking for a roomy car for trips around the country.

The big plus and most distinctive characteristic of the new Malibu mid-sizer are the incredibile safety and creature comforts features it can boast with:  seat-mounted thorax airbags, side-curtain airbags, stability control, traction control, and anti-lock brakes. Bluetooth is standard on the LTZ, optional on the LT. New for 2010, driver power lumbar is standard on all trims. Yes, that’s on standards on all models ! Mileage is good but not overwhelming, at 22 mpg city and 30mph highway track. Market prices vary from $22,000 to $26.000 (add a destination charge of some 700 dollars) which is a fine price indeed but some 3thousand bucks at least over the Suzuki Kizashi sedan which has an astoundingly affordable price.
