Toyota FT-86 Coupe To Arrive As Scheduled: November 2011!

The Toyota officials said that the production sports model, derived from the FT-86 concept will arrive in time, in November 2011. The design will not be modified and the price will be an affordable one.

Although at the end of May there were rumors regarding a potential delay of the sports car, derived from the Toyota FT-86 concept, the Japanese automaker denied the speculations. Shigeyuki Hori, the Toyota official responsible for the sporty models, said that the production version of FT-86 will be launched in time, the end of November, just like it was scheduled.

Hori claims that the Toyota FT-86 is already 50% ready and in the moment ofthe launch, the coupe will stick to the price policy promised by Toyota. The official estimated a price around $29,000 for average engine and equipment, on the Japanese domestic market.

Hori refused to talk about the top version of the car, but let us understand that in this situation the propulsion will be assured by a supercharged engine. Related with what will be under the hood of the coupe, the official said that they didn’t think of a hybrid yet, as the customers will only get petrol engines for the start.

Regarding the final looks of the Toyota FT-86, another Toyota official said that the aggressive design will be kept, little touches being made at the accessories level.

The rumor saying that the production model absed on FT-86 was also denied by Tadashi Yamashina, the Toyta Sports Division President. He said that the partnership with Subaru signed for the development of this model can only have an “exceptional” result.
