Toyots HF-HS Concept 01

It seems that Toyota finally made their best decision in the past years. Rumors say that at the Tokyo Motor Show they will present the FT-HS Concept, being a successor of their well-known Supra. Wow, if the FT-HS will be at least as good as his forerunner, then Toyota is the real deal. But you know it’s hard to beat a legend and Toyota Supra is the ultimate tuner. Still, what worries me is a whisper that I’ve heard: they want to fit the new Supra with a Hybrid engine?Oh, my God, I don’t even want to think about it.

It can't look better than this...

The FT-HS Hybrid Sports Car Concept was seen for the first time in 2007 at the Detroit Auto Show and it was expected to arrive in 2009, but the market conditions and the Toyobaru association have pushed back this concept’s debut until 2011.

If the new Supra will look at least half as good as the Concept, I'll sell my soul to the devil to buy one

But we also have good news for you: the FT-HS will be powered by a hybrid “Sports” variant packing the GS450h’s 2GR-VSE 3.5-liter V6. Oh, sorry, that’s the bad news. The good news is that the Supra successor will also have a  3.5-litre V6 gas engine. I don’t even need a turbo. I’ll add one in my backyard, but let it be a traditional gas-powered engine. Thanks, Toyota. Oh, and be careful with the floor mats.
