Saab chairman said that he is searching for a small dimensions platform, to the brand develop a mini model, a successor of the old Saab 9-2.

The Saab reconstruction plan includes the launching of a new generation Saab 9-3, but also a rival for the actors of the mini segment. The Spyker and Saab president, Victor Muller, said that he is in advanced discussions with several famous automakers, for borrowing a small dimensions platform.

Muller didn’t wanted do unveil the car builders he is currently talking to, but he admitted that the talks exist and also promised that finding a partner for Saab is his priority in the next 100 days. Muller said that he works every day with the Saab designers in order to give birth to a “super-cool” model.

The Swedes’ official declared that the future model will be a successor for the famous Saab 9-2, build 60 years ago. The design of the future small class model will be highly influenced by the one of his forerunner.

Despite the Swedes’ efforts, it is very less likely to see Saab 9-2 successor before 2013.
