Lexus To Present A Hybrid All-Wheel Drive Bike In Great Britain
Lexus will present a hybrid bicycle with all-wheel drive at a UK event held to highlight the benefits of cycling. Lexus is the main sponsor of this event.
The Japanese from Lexus will bring a hybrid bike at the Great British Bike Ride, an event for cyclists in the UK, to present the British this innovative vehicle. The exhibit that will be presented at this event is only one existing in the world and has two-wheel drive. Besides the fact that it has all-wheel drive, the bike from Lexus is a hybrid, being equipped with an electric motor of 240 watts, powered by a 25.9 volts lithium-ion battery.
The Lexus hybrid bike has two operating modes – Eco and Power. The electric motor engages the front wheel only, while the legs power is transposed to the rear wheels via a gear system which is based on rubber straps. This bicycle has eight speeds, which are made by Shimano and are located inside the frame.

This bike is made of carbon fiber and has an extremely low weight. The bike regenerates the kinetic energy normally lost while braking and uses it to either to assist the user while speeding or maintaining current speed, or to 100% electrically speed up to a certain speed. Unfortunately for the bikes fans, and not only, the new hybrid all-wheel drive bike from Lexus will not enter production any soon, being just a technological study.
